We start with a Goat

Our Values

As Christians, we approach our mission, following these three core values:

01

Right Relationships

We believe that success is achieved through strong relationships with God, self, others and the rest of creation.

02

Integrity

At the core of everything we do, we vow to always have all of our actions be honest and fair.

03

Hope

Our projects are guided

by Scripture and are designed to help people of all faiths.

Get to Know Us

Kerrie Holschbach first visited Tanzania in 2005. She wanted to create a lasting and sustainable impact on this community; something that provided sustenance. By implementing a simple and practical community development program in 2008, Food For His Children was born.

A cycle for good

We start with one

materially-poor family

We provide them a dairy goat along with veterinary support and agriculture training.

We offer spiritual sustenance.

Goats provide rich milk every day, their manure fertilizes crops, and eventually families can sell goat milk for income.

When goats breed, the first-born doe is passed on to another family in need.

A goat is more than just an animal; it’s like an efficient engine. Goats provide up to four liters of rich milk a day, which initially is used to sustain families, providing much-needed nutrition. Their manure fertilizes crops which doubles the harvest. Eventually, families can sell goat milk and use that income to send children to school, build safe and structurally-sound homes, start independent businesses and pay for medical expenses.

"Pass-On"

When goats breed, the first-born doe is passed on to another family in need. Through this process, an entire village can be lifted out of poverty and into a culture of sustainability.

To make this cycle sustainable, "Pass-On" is necessary.

Our vision

support africa.jpg

Why community development and
not just relief?

Simple. Relief, though temporarily helpful, is a quick-fix. Community development addresses the root of the problem, while fostering empowerment and transforming lives. We believe all people are rich in intelligence, gifts and talents. Some need more help to discover those things within themselves.

ABOUT

Making change possible

Food for His Children is a US nonprofit organization and International NGO that equips and empowers communities in rural Tanzania living in extreme poverty conditions with resources and hope so their children have food, medical care, education; so that children are protected from human trafficking; and so that families can support THEMSELVES.

When families restore relationships with God, themselves, their communities, and creation, they can lead their communities out of poverty for generations to come.

FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community,

and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. We do this by providing a dairy goat and holistic services.

Food for His Children is a Christian organization, but our services are open to all people.

We do not proselytize and do not require people become or state they are Christians in order

to receive services or participate in any Food for His Children programs.  All are welcome.

Unleashing potential.
One family. One Goat at a time.
